Legal setup and status

 

The county council of Aarhus took the initiative to create the Samso Energy Agency (SEA) together with the municipality of Samso and the Danish Enterprise And Construction Authority (da: Erhvervs- og Byggestyrelsen) under the ministry of internal affairs. SEA was established legally as an independent non-profit association on 21 March 2005.
 
Board of management
 
  • Mr. Peder Bang is Chairman of the Board. He is the legal representative and he is authorized to sign documents on behalf of the board. Peder Bang is appointed from the trade department of the Central Denmark Region
  • Mr. Carsten Bruun is the Vice Chairman of the board. He is the Mayor of Samso municipality, and he is appointed from the municipality.
  • Mr. Brian Kjær is elected from the Samso trade board.
  • Mr. Torben Dreier is from the Frit Oplysningsforbund (Free Adult Educational Association) in Aarhus. He is the head of a school for adults and the initiator of capacity building projects in educational programmes.
  • Mrs. Inge-Dorthe Ellegård Larsen and Mr. Einar Mortensen are elected from the local energy management agency.
  • Mrs. Birgit Bjørnvig is a representative from the consumers’ organisation.

 

Advisory committee

 

  • Aalborg University. Represented by Dr. Bernd Müller. The Aalborg University offers a study program called “Sustainable Energy Planning”.
  • The Danish Energy Agency. Represented by Mr. Jan Bünger. It is the political contact to the Danish legislation and national programmes. The Danish Energy Agency is also evaluating the programme and SEA.
  • The SEA is in close contact with the Danish NGO´s who work for sustainable development.  The Organization for Renewable Energy (OVE, www.org.dk), The Coordinated Energy Organizations (SEK, www.sek.dk), the Danish wind turbine organization (www.dkvind.dk), and the Danish Hydrogen Association (DHA, www.danishhydrogen.dk).
